Ilam Hall

Nice walks around the grounds of Ilam Hall. Very picturesque.

Milldale to Dovedale

Easy walk from Milldale (15 minutes north of Ashbourne) to Dovedale along the beautiful banks of the River Dove. Children will love the stepping stones at the end of the walk, and will love the little refreshment / ice-cream kiosk even more!

Thorpe Cloud

Enjoy spectacular views over the surrounding countryside as you climb this steep but relatively short hill. The view from the top is panoramic and stunning. (10 minutes from Ashbourne.)

Manifold Valley Walk & Thor’s Cave

Walk along the Manifold Track following the Manifold River (The river is usually dry for most of the year). Climb up to Thor's cave for spectacular views. (Take a torch). Children (and adults!) will love scrambling around in the cave. (Wetton Mill is approximately 20 minutes from Ashbourne.)
